It's weird... You know those strings made of light people had tied around their fingers? Well, I had one connecting me to a friend of mine. And as the months went on, I started dressing more like him, and he started dressing more like me.

Oh! [When the surprise fades there's a small smile on Max's lips.] A goth person being forced to dress like you... The poor guy must've been so far out of his comfort zone by the end of it.

Uh, that one was gold, I think? I had one blue one, a bunch of gold ones, and then a red one that didn't seem to lead anywhere I could follow.

I mean, the red string of fate is a pretty common trope, but mostly in Asian media. It implies that the two people who are connected are soulmates of some kind. My guess is that the different colors imply different kinds of relationships.

I hate to say it, but someone else told me that too. It feels a little like destiny sticking its nose into our lives. [She laughs without any real humor.] Any idea who the blue was tied to? And the red... even though you never found them?

The blue one was tied to Amara. I dunno if you know her? I first met her on the Titanic.

The red one... I'm not sure. It's hard to guess when I don't know what kind of relationship red is supposed to represent.

Well... The Marvel multiverse has many Earths. People started numbering them to keep them straight. The main one, the one I was on, was called Earth-616.
